9 Feb 2009, R.I.P - Ome Henk

A terrible car crash took the life of one so dear and near to me.
May he have a swift journey up to heaven on Monday.

Australia day in Amsterdam

My cousin Erica and I wanted to celebrate Aussie day... and whats they best way when your overseas! At the Australian Pub in Amsterdam!!

Cocos Outback was jam packed with about 400 people or more. Mostly Aussies but also Dutchies.

Its great to have been able to celebrate in true Aussie style, lousy food and warm beer LOL!

Enjoy the photos on the Adam and Tamara online albumn link (on your right)

A weekend in Germany

A Wonderful weekend away with my cousin Henk. We drove 4 hours from Holland to Germany to stay with Henks´ dear friends Stefan and Gabi. What a fantastic couple they are!!

1st night we went to a local pub in a nearby village to watch 2 bands. 1st band was German and was hard to understand but the drummer was amazing!

2nd band was a French Rock, Heavy Metal band. Not my choice of music but.... I have to say very very entertaining. They sang in French and also in English. The band consisted of 6 members including 2 trumpet players. A little scary towards the end of the performance as the really heavy metal began and the crowd went wild.. Jumping, headbanging, pushing and shoving (I quickly got out of the way!) and not to forget at the end the lead siger done a bit of crowd surfing!

Truely a great night.

Next day.. I stank like I had been sleeping in an Ashtray.. Yes they smoke in some pubs over here! Disgusting. A quick shower and I felt normal again.

After Breakfast Henk, Stefan and I jumped into the car and headed off into the nearby surrounding nature. On our way we stopped at Stefan Mothers house and also his siter place. She owns and managers a hotel. WOW how cool!

Back into the nature... up into the mountains we went.. unfortuntely the higher we went the less visability we had.. so not many photos.. sorry.
On way home we stopped at a little village (No idea what the name is). The town was 800 years old and the main street has houses thast were more than 400 years old ..and still livable!!!

Thanks Henk for taking me and a hugethanks to Stefan and Gabi for their hospitality. I can´t wait for a return trip one day.

A day out at Park Veluwe

Waking up to snow outside... Henk and I took an adventure to national park - Park Veluwe, 70 Klm from Amsterdam. Lucky it was a spare of the moent choice... as the snow has melted later that night.

Enjoy

Have you seen our Rosie

Our dog Rosie who is dearly loved, dug a hole under our back fence 6 days ago and we havent seen her since. I can only guess that she was missing me and thought to venture out and try and find me. Poor Rosie, has never escaped before and we are both praying for her safe return. To think she is out there somewhere lost and confused ...

I hope she is well and with a loving family and not some selfish bugger who thinks he has hit the jackot in finding a loving, gentle and child friendly dog. Lucky we has Rosie microchipped 6 weeks back and hope someone contacts us soon.

New Years 2008/09 in Holland

What a great night. Watching in the distance someone burn a christmas tree in the back yard.. a few drinks, games and not to forget the fireworks. Outside temp was about minus 5 and more smokey than the city of Babgkok on a busy day.
