Beep Beep! Our Scooter

Hi All,

I know its been a while since I have updated the site. Adam & I are doing well. Its been a difficult last few weeks and I am sure it will take a long time before life is normal again. We really appreciate all the emails & messages & cards & phone calls from everyone giving their love & support. Sorry to say we will not be sending christmas cards this year, I know we always do but it just doesnt seem right this year.

31/2 weeks ago Adam bought me a new scooter to ride to work. I love it!! & it saves heaps of money on fuel.


Stage 2 of Our renovations are now complete. Polished floors & we also have insulation in our roof. A month ago our house was 42 degreees inside with every window open & all the doors. Now it is 12 degrees less.

Matthew, you will not be forgotten

I am saddend to advise that Matthew Mossman passed away on the 4th of December.

During this difficult time I ask that you pray for the Mossman family.

We are currently here in townsville & will be attend a small memorial service today at 11.00

Matthews funeral will be held at the Star of the Sea church in Gladstone, date to be advised.

A thank you to all our family & friends, your prayers, thoughts & love.

Hi Everyone!! Since buying our house last year & up until now Adam & I have been very busy renovating. Well I will have to be honest & say Adam is the worker :) & I have been the interior decorator [Its hard work choosing colours n staff ! right? ]
No no I do help out with other things so Adam can focus on renovating :) heheheh

Anyways back to our house. We are proud to announce that the first stage has been completed. A new kitchen with warm colours [Inspired by Bridie & Hans... in Holland]

By the way

Don't mind the kitchen floor.... the next step is getting the floors polished & finish painting all the bedrooms.

Congratulations to Mel & Steve Arnott in their new arrival.
Riley was born on the 10th of October in Gladstone, Qld. Apart from being a few weeks early he is a bouncing healthy little boy. His brother Liam is over the moon to have some one to play with.

Welcome Jayden Thomas Mijnhout

Congratulations to my Brother & his Fiance - Michelle for giving birth to the cutest baby boy in the whole wide world!! :) [Im not biased ... I promise]

After 3 LONG days in hospital, Jayden was born 7 weeks premature, 4 October 2006. Weighed 2140 G [almost 41/2 pound]45cm long.

Jayden will be in hospital for a few weeks, he is fighting fit & healthy.
Mamma Michelle is doing well.

Gut Feeling

If ever there was a moment in life where you just had a gut feeling ... & although it has not been confirmed, you know its true?

Well for those who know me.. really know me, I get these GUT feelings [as I would call it] every now & then [ok ok .... maybe rarely.. but they do exsist] Anyways perhaps you wondering what garbage I am speaking about.

Last night 22 September had got to be one of the worst nights sleeps I have encountered in a very long time. I woke this morning at 05:15 am & I just knew something exciting had happened. Merethe [the most sexiest pregnant women alive [ha ha] who lives in Denmark] is pregnant .. well at least she was until last night.

To cut a long story short I know deep down the her beautiful baby was born. I feel it in my bones. This has not yet been confirmed to me & all her contact numbers are not available right now, [I'll keep trying today]

So if you believe me then this is great & if not thats fine ... but look out for the next entry to this blog as I guarantee it will be confirmation of the birth.

Henk has a new car !!

Everyone should by now know "Ome Henk" ... He is my mum's second cousin, however when us kids were growing up we called him Ome [Uncle] & to this day his title still sticks. In case you don't know him he's the man in my life that I look up to. He has helped our family imensly over the years & without a doubt the funniest guys I've ever met. He lives in Holland, bit of a computer freak, loves his new car :) adores animals & nature. Oh & if I might add not too bad of a photographer.

Belated Honeymoon Update March 2005

After such a wonderful & perfect wedding day we didnt expect anything less from our honeymoon. With only being able to getaway for a week we decided some where more closer to home for this trip.



We flew from Brisbane to Cairns.
First night Sofitel Reef Casino 5 ***** & in 2 words TOP CLASS We were upgraded to a lovely suite, given champagne on arrival & bath robes & slippers to ooze in & did I forget to mention the view... well check out the photos above on your left ....

That night we both dressed in our best for a dinner cruise ... running late of course we ended up hailing a taxi half way down the street & paid him $10 to take us to the wharf ... hehehe it was only another 500mtrs down the road. Silly us.



I must have misread the brochure about it being a 5star dinner cruise ... we were the only ones dressed up & if I may also add I think the only Australians that night. There must have been some Japanes group booking that night :)
Its worth mentioning that the entertainment dedicated a song to us as we were on our honeymoon. That was real special.

Next Off to Palm cove to stay at the Novotel Resort ... Pure Bliss
Nothing ot do but relax by the pool, play some tennis & walk along the beach side overlooking the nearby islands.

Belated Honeymoon Update March 2005

Next day a bus day tour to Port Douglas with a few side trips to an eco lodge & a water cruise to sight some crocs !

After a few days we were off back to Cairns, this time to stay at the then Mercure Oasis Resort.. Now known as the Oasis resort. Adam had the opportunity to catch up with his good mate from high school - Richard Stephens [how are you by the way?]



During this stay we also went on a day trip to fitzroy Island, jet boating to the reef [Ill leave this adventure for another day] & night markets in Cairns.

Coffee !!

Again drinking coffee :) This time at a coffee house near our old apartment back in 2002/2003 in Amsterdam, with my cousins Henk, Hans & Tesse.

Hi Tesse, Can I have your email address again? I am so clumsy & have lost it AGAIN, hope all is well & you have settled into your new place now :)

Denmark December 2005

December 2005... Jetsetting off to Denmark for a long weekend to see my maid of Honour Merethe, Her partner Kenneth & his son Nicklas.

They live in a town called Naestved. Luck must have been on our side because up until now we hadnt seen snow & thought Adam would miss out again! [my poor Adam, he has had terrible luck, missing out on snow storms or any decent snow fall.] Anyways after Merethes'Father in-law picked us up from the airport we were cruising down the highway when it started to snow. Adam was so excited he wanted to get out there & then & feel the snow flakes on his face... It also snowed as we departed the airport back to Amserdam.

Merethe & Kenneth are currently expecting a baby. Thinking of you both :) mwah

Dec 2005 - Holland

Nothing could keep us from adventuring out on this very cold frosty morning in late December 2005. The 3 of us [Henk is taking the photos] went to the zoo....
[sorry henk can you remind me again the name of this place, it has slipped my mind at the present moment].. thanks

Anyways, where was I? Oh yes, we arrived to an empty parking field & walked over the old cobblled stoned roads though the villiage. Upon entry it wasnt long untilwe found the cafe & headed for some coffee & lunch. Hhmmm a big smoked sausage with patatoe & silverbeet mash... Its the best, you really should try it. :)

There were so many animals... most of them looked out of place, like the elephants should have been in a warmer climate dont you think?

The climax of the day would have to be the Butterfly house. I couldnt tell you how cold it was outside, but when we walked inside it almost knocked us off our feet at approx 30 degrees. We were amazed to see the butterflys feeding off pieces of cut fruit that had been left out on feeding trays.

I didnt know they ate pineapples?
